Spray Ball

Our spray balls are designed for cleaning the internals of tanks and vessels. We stock slip-on spray balls in full, bottom, and top spray configurations, all made from durable 316 stainless steel.

A spray ball is used to clean the inside of tanks and vessels by spraying cleaning fluid across the internal surfaces during a CIP (clean-in-place) cycle. It removes product residue, films and bacteria hygienically without dismantling the tank or sending anyone inside, making it essential in food, beverage, dairy, brewing, pharmaceutical and chemical processing.

A static spray ball has no moving parts and sprays continuously through fixed, precisely drilled holes, giving reliable, low-maintenance coverage for most standard tanks. A rotary spray ball spins under fluid pressure to produce a higher-impact jet, which suits larger or heavily soiled vessels. Static slip-on spray balls handle the majority of routine tank-cleaning duties.

Choose your spray pattern based on where the tank needs cleaning. A full spray ball (360°) washes the entire interior and is the right choice for most general tank cleaning. A top spray ball (180° upward) targets the upper walls and the underside of the lid, while a bottom spray ball (180° downward) focuses on the lower walls and base. If in doubt, full spray gives the most complete coverage.

All our spray balls are made from 316 stainless steel. The 316 grade offers excellent corrosion resistance and is suited to hygienic and washdown environments, including food, beverage, dairy, brewing, pharmaceutical and chemical applications.

Sizing a spray ball depends on your tank’s diameter, your CIP pump’s flow rate and the available supply pressure, plus the spray pattern you need. As a general guide, a single static spray ball suits small-to-medium vessels, while larger tanks may need a higher flow rate or multiple spray balls for full coverage. Send us your tank dimensions and CIP setup, and we’ll recommend the correct unit.
