RJT
British Standard Milk (BSM) stainless steel unions were made for tube installation in the dairy industry. They are now commonly used in food and beverage industries. BSM unions consist of a nut, liner, male and seal.
There are two types of BSM unions, a Ring Joint Type (RJT) which contains an ‘O’ ring style seal and a Clean In Place (CIP) which contains a ‘Flat Face’ style seal. The main difference is that the CIP seal fills the gap between the liner and male.
We have available both specially designed spanners to loosen and tighten BSM nuts and also pressed reducing liners to reduce between sizes.
There are many different material options for BSM seals. These consist of EPDM rubber, Nitrile, Teflon, Viton and Silicone. Each has a given application for temperature and is able to work with different chemical compositions.
